Michael Jackson: the 10 finest video tributes
Since Michael Jackson's death in June thousands of tribute videos have been uploaded to the internet by fans. Most can happily be ignored, but here are ten that you might enjoy. (as quoted from telegraph.co.uk)

1. Israel's Adam Ben Ezra is an undiscovered musical and comic talent, if his cover of Billie Jean is anything to go by. In the video he plays all the parts on the same double bass, throwing in absurdist flourishes like a clambering cat and evening dress.

2. Snowball, a sulphur-crested cockatoo, mimics some of Jacko's most famous dance moves. Or at least the closest equivalents he can manage, including the one-leg-up-other-leg-up, bouncy head and sideways shake. And it's not even animal abuse, because Snowball is raising money for a bird rescue centre in Indiana.

3. The Eternal Moonwalk website compiled thousands of Jackson impersonations submitted by other internet users and blended them into a single dance. A great idea that showcased the singer's mass appeal in a coherent way, allowing tribute-hunters to circumvent the mass of amateur Jacko dross clogging up YouTube's pipes.

4. The Thriller dance routine performed by inmates at Cebu prison in the Philippines is one of the most-watched clips in YouTube history, despite the faint whiff of abused power. So the tribute posted online by the same prison manager just hours after Jackson's death was always going to be huge. While camper and a little duller than the original, it still makes for a bizarre viewing.

5. The two sides of the web - collaboration and triviality - in one baffling clip. Michael Jackson's iconic white glove appears at the centre of the screen throughout this version of the 1983 premier of Billie Jean. The video was created from data produced by The White Glove Tracking Project, which identified the co-ordinates of the glove in all of the original film's 10,060 frames through crowdsourcing. There's no good reason why, that's just the internet. (Posted before Jackson's death, but an interesting tribute nonetheless.)

6. An a capella medley of Jackson's hits with all seven parts sung by the same guy - a young performer named Sam Tsui.

7. A touchingly restrained ukulele cover of She's Out of My Life, posted on YouTube by an amateur musician. The stripped-down version of the song draws out the melancholy of the original.

8. The dramatic chipmunk viral video was just waiting for a Thriller mash-up, and this doesn't disappoint.

9. Josh's Commute to Work sells itself as a "true-life documentary" about a music fan from Chicago who erupts in dance whenever he hears Jackson's songs. That may not sound prepossessing, but the video is oddly lovable, and very well made.

10. Several major cities hosted Jacko flashmobs - mass dances in public places - after the singer's death, but this footage from Stockholm in Sweden is especially fun. The Beat It routine begins with just a handful of dancers but spreads to fill the entire square as more join in.[url=[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
